The Art Department's Extra-Curricular Wider Opportunities are as follows:

KS5 Fine Art, Photography and Graphic Communication students have opportunities to apply to a range of art competitions, partake in portfolio development sessions, and work on creative EPQ's throughout the year. Students participate in workshops like studio lighting, pin hole photography and pottery wheel ceramics to broaden their range of practical skills. KS5 Fine Art, Photography and Graphic Communication students will attend the Art in Action conference in autumn 2 and year 12 Fine Art, Photography and Graphic Communication students will visit the Tate Modern in spring 2. 

KS4 students have weekly Fine Art and Graphic Communication Aspire sessions to develop their sketchbook work in a range of media and refine their final outcomes. Students can partake in workshops in Photoshop, Illustrator, printmaking, collage and painting to build their art-making skills. Year 11 Fine Art and Graphic Communication students will go on a trip to the Design Museum in autumn 2 and year 10 Fine Art and Graphic Communication students will visit the Saatchi Gallery in spring 2.

There is a KS3 Art competition in winter 2 and spring 1 terms. It is open to all students in year 7, year 8 and year 9. Students are encouraged to create artwork based on a weekly theme, working in a combination of fine art and digital art media.
