Report an Absence

We ask parents to ensure children attend school on each day the school is open for the pupils unless there is an ‘authorisable’ reason to be absent. Only the school can authorise an absence.

Reporting an absence

Absences can only be reported by parents / carers or those adults with parental responsibility. Known absences must be reported in advance and emergency absence or absence due to illness must be reported on each day of the absence. For any complex situations, please email the attendance officer for guidance.

Planned absences

Appointments must be made outside of school time wherever possible. Any emergency appointments that can only be made during school time must be reported in advance on our parent portal - Edulink. Please see this one-page guide to help you in reporting an absence on the portal.

Unplanned/Emergency absences

To report absence due to sickness or other reasons, there are three options available. All absences must be reported before 8:45am.

You can:

If you are emailing or telephoning, you must provide the child's name, the reason for absence and the name of the person reporting the absence.

Please see our Policy Page for full details or our attendance and punctuality policies.
