E4E (Elthorne for Equality)
The school’s approach to social action and building a diverse and respectful community is supported by Elthorne 4 Equality (E4E). This began as a student-led society that encouraged the school to raise awareness of global and local issues that impact individuals or groups of people. E4E events address marginalisation within society and raise funds for causes that challenge disadvantage.
E4E has had huge success in raising funds and establishing partnerships with local charities such as the St Ann’s Foundation, Hanwell House and Ealing Food Bank. Our global and national events are wide ranging with E4E celebrating Black History Month, International Women’s Day, Jeans 4 Genes, Anti-bullying Week, Eid and Pride Month.
Our commitment to the importance of community outreach is reflected in our Senior Student Leadership Team, with two E4E leads promoting and embedding a culture of giving in our school. Previous E4E Student Leaders have already helped integrate First Give into our year 9 PSHCE curriculum to build on this work. All Year 9 students were tasked with researching local charities in need of both financial support and support in raising awareness of their work and its impact. This resulted in students presenting to their year group and to prestigious members of the local community on poignant issues across the borough including mental health (in aid of MIND), sustainable education (in aid of Friends of Horsenden) and the cost of living crisis (in aid of the Ealing Food Bank).
