Pastoral Support

Sixth Form students at Elthorne Park High School are encouraged to be independent, motivated, and organised. While the step up from GCSEs can be a challenge, a strong support network is in place to help students succeed and we are extremely proud of the way our team is structured to provide outstanding levels of pastoral care.

We have a dedicated Year Leads and Assistant Year Leads for both Year 12 and Year 13 who work closely with staff and students to create a positive, supportive environment. Our two Pastoral Support Workers (PSWs) provide timetabled mentoring, drop-in sessions and tailored support groups throughout the school year. Each student also has a dedicated form tutor who provides ongoing guidance, checks in on academic progress, and supports applications to university, apprenticeships or employment.

We recognise that offering more enhanced support to some students may be key to ensuring they are successful in their studies and we work closely with external organisations such as the Ealing School’s Counselling Partnership and The Circle. In addition to individual support, the expertise provided by these partnerships helps shape our personal development and wellbeing programmes, ensuring all students feel supported and mental health remains a top priority.
