Student Leadership
Offering a wide range of opportunities for student leadership is a key priority at Elthorne. We believe strongly that the benefits of student leadership are wide and varied.
At Elthorne Park High School we recognise that every student has the potential to be a successful leader. By integrating student leadership principles into many areas of school life, we ensure that opportunities are created for all of our students to experience these principles and practices. These will improve their leadership skills, benefitting their school life and beyond.
Student council
Through the student council there is the opportunity to influence change to promote student well-being. The aim of the council is to represent the views and opinions of all students at Elthorne Park High School. Each tutor group will nominate two students to represent them on the council, who will meet with other members from the year group each term to discuss the issues raised by their peers. Council members will also join working parties composed of tutor reps from across each year group focused on four areas of improvement. The four working councils are:
-
Behaviour
-
Teaching and Learning
-
Elthorne for Equality
-
Wider Opportunities
Both the Year team student council meetings and working parties will be overseen by the Senior Student Leadership Team
Senior Student Leadership Team
Our Senior Student Leadership Team (SSLT) reflects the qualities we expect to see in our students and represent the best Elthorne has to offer. Each has been selected for their commitment, initiative, desire to improve the school and the high standards of conduct they demonstrate in every area.
