Extra Curricular Activities

Whether you enjoy sport, drama, computing or games - you’ll find something to spark your interests at Elthorne Park High School.

We actively encourage students to participate outside the classroom and have many opportunities for young people to further their interests and participate in wider school life.

We offer a number of clubs before school, at lunchtime and after school such as drama, manga art, chess, Korean, board games, eco club and a large number of sports activities. The majority of clubs are free to attend and run voluntarily by our staff, however there are also a handful of paid opportunities led by external providers. Our high standards of music and drama are reflected in regular concerts and productions, and our wide variety of sports teams consistently achieve success in borough and regional competitions.

We publish our extracurricular timetable at the start of each term to ensure a wide range is offered throughout the year. Students can find out more information about clubs from their tutor and parents can sign up their child to a club via EVOLVE.

Interform Competitions

Along with our extensive club provision each Year team runs a number of interform competitions every term, allowing students to represent their form group and compete to be interform winners at the end of the school year. Previous interform competitions have included badminton, rounders, table tennis, Christmas card designing, bake-offs and many more.

Duke of Edinburgh

The DofE award is the world's leading youth achievement award, giving millions of 14 to 24-year-olds the opportunity to develop themselves in scenarios they would not normally experience. The fun but challenging expeditions take young people out of their comfort zones, whilst building confidence, teamwork, life skills and friendships. Students engage in Volunteering, Physical, Skills and Expedition. We currently offer the Bronze Award for students in Year 9, and the Silver Award for students in Year 10 who have previously completed Bronze along with students in Year 12 regardless of their previous DofE experience.
